Fire and ambulance crews were called to Thornbury yesterday after someone got stuck in mud up to their knees.
Crews from Thornbury and Bedminster were called shortly before 4pm and rescued a 'young female' from a field near the Medieval Fishponds.
Medical aid was administered before ambulance crews arrived.
A spokeswoman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Thornbury and Bedminster were mobilised at 15:56 to reports of someone stuck in mud on Manor Walk, Thornbury.
"On arrival, firefighters found one young female stuck in mud.
"Firefighters rescued the female using water safety equipment."
