YATE Town Football club have put out an appeal to raise vital funds for the club as their income stopped overnight due to Covid-19.

The club relies on revenue sources from match days, including ticket and merchandising sales as well as income from the onsite bar and food stand.

With all football matches suspended in March, Yate Town has found itself, alongside many other football clubs, in a very uncertain time, financially.

Yate Town have launched a CrowdFunder page in a bid to support the club until matches can resume at Lodge Road.

The crowdfunder is asking for donations of any amount towards the club.

A spokesperson for Yate Town said: “Due to the enforced closure of the club and clubhouse we have been put in a very difficult financial position.

“Like other semi professional clubs around the country, we have decided to appeal to our supporters and the local community for donations. As a football club we would be very grateful for any help during this difficult and uncertain time.

“Every individual who pledges a donation will have their name put on a plaque in the clubhouse. We are also raffling off a season ticket and merchandise .

“For every £15 donation we will be giving away a free match day ticket to a select game next season to a front line worker. They have all worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to keep this country going and we are forever grateful.”

Yate Town play in the Southern Premier league, home matches are played at Lodge Road.
