The Gazette’s Love Local Business wants to support business owners who have been hardest hit by the pandemic.

Barbers definitely fall into that category and while many will be reopening their shops in the next few days, not everyone has it that easy.

Last year Bertie Graham, from Alveston, set up a barbershop in Clifton and advertised it as ‘the smallest barbers in Britain’.

It has fold-up waiting chairs and room for just two customers inside.

Being just 4.2 square metres in size however, it is impossible for social distancing measures to be put in place.

As a result the 22-year-old has had to set up a new shop, this time in Alveston.

Bertie said “Unfortunately the down side of the smallest barbershop in Britain is that it does not allow for social distancing.

“This is why I’ve set up a temporary barbershop in Alveston, offering appointments where we can safely carry out our services as well as home visit to those not wanting to leave the house.”

All details of how to book an appointment can be found on the Bertie’s Barber Shop Facebook page
