A play area in Thornbury has had its reopening delayed after a wasp nest was found.
The nest was discovered on the climbing frame at the Mundy Playing Fields.
A post on the Thornbury Town Council Facebook page stated: "Please note the Mundy Playing Fields Play Area remains closed.
"Whilst doing our checks for reopening we have found an active wasps nest on the net climbing frame.
"Please keep well away whilst we address this issue."
A wasp nest has also been found at the skate park, which also remains closed.
Last week the council said they were working to reopen play areas and outdoor gym equipment 'as soon as possible'.
