THIS year South Gloucestershire and Stroud College have taken their annual art and design summer exhibition online.

Unable to display their work as in past years due to COVID-19, students are exhibiting their work in a virtual exhibition instead.

The online exhibitions showcase a range of their work from Level 1 through to Level 6.

This year has seen dramatic changes in the life and education experiences for students, tutors and technicians and work that is on display throughout this exhibition is a testament to their passion for their subject and determination both whilst in college and since the nationwide lockdown began.

Using digital technologies, the tutors have worked collaboratively with each other and have supported the students to continue to learn and explore their specialisms.

These exhibitions also provide an opportunity to gain an insight into the Art & Design courses on offer across SGS College campuses which range from fine art, product design, textiles, ceramics and more, and are open to all ages and abilities from part time leisure courses to degree level options.

Sara-Jane Watkins, college principal said: “Our students have shown dedication, enthusiasm and immense resourcefulness despite the restrictions of this challenging time.

"It is important that they feel celebrated and continue to be part of the SGS community.

"Their work in terms of ambition and traditional craftsmanship is outstanding.

“We would also like to thank all our incredible staff who have continued to support our students to achieve their potential.

"Please join us online to discover some of the work they have produced during their creative journey with us."
