SGS Berkeley Green UTC students are today celebrating an outstanding set of results.

The STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) specialist college offers traditional A-levels alongside technical qualifications in engineering, digital technologies and cyber security.

The highest achieving student, Finley Truran, secured an A* in maths alongside D*D*D* in his digital qualifications (the equivalent of 3 A* at A-level).

Five other students achieved D*D*D* in cyber security, with some now going to Russell Group universities while others have secured degree level apprenticeships in the security sector.

Heather Spill was thrilled to get A*A*AA in her four A-levels and will be studying maths and computer science at Loughborough University. As the highest achieving young woman at the UTC, Heather has blazed a trail and helped to attract a growing number of female students.

Headteacher Louise Davies said: "We are thrilled that so many of our students have been successful in a year when they have had so much to contend with. They have worked incredibly hard and we are immensely proud of them.

"Some of our students have overcome great odds to achieve their qualifications, and their resilience has been rewarded. At a time of great uncertainty they are now equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for future success."

She added: "If anybody reading this knows a young person who is keen to follow a technical route for GCSE or post-16 study, it’s not too late to apply for entry this September. These results show they’ll be in expert hands."
