Chipping Sodbury celebrated the 75th anniversary of VJ day today.
August, 15, 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of Victory over Japan day, the day in which Japan surrendered and World War 2 ended.
Chipping Sodbury High Street was adorned with Union Jacks and The Star-Spangled Banners and a wreath was laid in remembrance at the War Memorial.
Mayor of Chipping Sodbury, James Ball said: "It was my privilege to lay a wreath at the War Memorial in Chipping Sodbury this morning. It was lovely to meet so many Veterans and thanks to The Royal British Legion for helping to organise the Military Vehicles to be parked at the War Memorial.
"We stood together to thank and remember all those who gave their tomorrow so we can have our today.
"May they all Rest in Peace.
"We Will Remember Them"
