POLICE in the Cotswolds are cracking down on anti-social behaviour at Moreton-in-Marsh train station.

British Transport Police (BTP) have reported an increase in the number of incidents at the North Cotswold station.

In a community alert sent out by Gloucestershire Police PC Nick Weastmacott said the incidents that had led to the crackdown had taken place at platform two of the station's waiting room during early evenings and weekends.

We asked BTP for more information on specific incidents, but they did not respond before our deadline.

And Eilleen Viviani, a member of Moreton-in-Marsh Town Council said increased incidents at the station had not been raised with the town council.

"Anyone who sees youths acting in an anti-social manner are encouraged to call police where local officers will attend.

"The station is covered by CCTV and offenders will be recorded and identified."

Anyone who wanted to report an incident is asked to call 101, 999 in an emergency.
