Yate ladies hockey club will compete in the national ladies over 35s Masters Championship after beating Sale hockey club in the semi-finals.

Saturday's game started with lots of pressure from the Yate side, keeping the Sale defence on it's toes.

The first half saw multiple chances for the home side to score however towards half time Sale stepped up the pressure and Yate were relieved when the whistle went for half time.

The second half saw strong attacking play from both sides and Sale had a couple of particularly dangerous breaks before a Yate striker flew the ball past the Sale goalkeeper and into the backboard.

With just ten minutes left to go Sale kept up their attacking play but the whistle went with Yate remaining 1-0 up.

This secures the Yate ladies over 35 side a place in the final where they will play Barnes Hockey Club in Nottingham.
