A popular dance school has re-opened after being closed for six months.

ROKH Dance, which holds classes in Iron Acton, Frampton Cotterell, Wotton-under-Edge and Charfield, opened its doors again at the beginning of September.

Throughout lockdown classes were held via Zoom and a web-based portal in which children could join in with pre-recorded classes.

Dancers even produced an online show called Rainbows of Hope.

“Re-opening after six months of lockdown has been utterly joyful,” said principal Kathryn Hurley.

“The sheer delight on the children’s faces when dancing to the music, in a brilliant spacious environment, alongside their friends has been wonderful to witness.

“We have received lots of really positive feedback from parents who shared with us that their children have been ‘buzzing’ after class. We could literally see the children visibly relax.

“The benefits of the creative arts -dancing and drama, should never be under estimated, especially at this time.

“We would like to say a huge, huge thank you to our ROKH Dance family - parents and children, for being so cooperative and willing to adhere to all the guidelines we have had to enforce. We are confident that the measures we have in place are the best that we can practicably do in order to keep children, staff and families safe.

"The children have embraced the changes as simply as children tend to do."

ROKH Dance will celebrate it’s combined 50th Anniversary in March 2021, with hopefully a big celebration for previous and present families.

The school offers ballet, tap, modern, street, contemporary and drama classes for children aged 2.5 years-18years.

It currently has a couple of spaces available for children wishing to join. Head to ROKH-dance.com to complete an enquiry form.
