More than 70% of residents have said they are in favour of pubs closing at 10pm to help halt the spread of Covid.

That's according to a poll we ran on our website this week.

73% said they agree with the pub curfew, with 21% saying they didn’t agree with it.

5% of respondents said they didn't have an opinion on the matter.

Residents also expressed their views on the issue by commenting on the poll on Facebook.

One person said: "It encourages binge drinking."

Another wrote: "Yes, close from 9pm."

Another said:"Most definitely. Closing them earlier would be better!"
