Yate Parish are launching a Christmas Tree Trail this December after uncertainties surrounding Coronavirus led them to cancel their annual Christmas tree festival at St Mary's.
The decision to cancel the indoor event came as the team decided the pandemic had resulted in 'too many unknowns'.
The team, however are planning an alternative event that will raise community Christmas spirit and funds for charity.
The Yate and District Christmas tree trail will begin on Saturday December 5 and run until New Year's Eve with a 'Wonderful world of Christmas' theme
The Trail will consist of individually decorated and themed Christmas trees sponsored by local businesses, charities, schools and individuals, with a mapped walking trail around the area.
Maps will be sold from local outlets shops, with all proceeds being divided equally between St Peter’s Hospice and St Mary’s Church to support their ongoing work in the community.
There will be competitions with prizes for all age groups.
