A HAIR salon in Dursley has launched a way for clients to access their favourite magazines safely during their beauty treatment.
Before lockdown, flicking through glossy magazines and sipping a cup of coffee were all part of the pampering salon experience.
But due to Covid safety restrictions, that’s no longer possible.
However, Peter Hickman Hairdressing on Long Street in Dursley is now offering a way for customers to read magazines via their phone or tablet at no cost.
“We haven’t been able to offer drinks or magazines in our salon since lockdown,” said Peter Hickman stylist, Ashley.
“So we looked into offering something on the magazine front, and pretty much everyone comes in with some sort of device these days.”
The team found a company called Digi-Mags which provides a range of magazines customers can access via their mobile phone or tablet.
“Simply scan our QR code and you have a choice of over 70 magazines to stream and browse whilst in the salon,” said Ashley.
There is no app to download and no need to register.
“Just the problem of digital coffees to get around now,” joked Ashley.
