A 41-year-old Dursley lawyer has denied perverting the course of justice by falsifying documents and making an untrue statement under oath at a Family Court hearing.
Stuart Dodd, of Uley Road, Dursley, pleaded not guilty at Gloucester Crown Court last Friday to two charges of making amendments to a legal document and using the falsified document as sworn evidence in court.
Judge Ian Lawrie QC said that that because Mr Dodd would likely be known by judges in Bristol and the West, as well as those in Worcestershire and Birmingham, he would have to be tried elsewhere.
Dodd was told that his trial could be held in Truro, Plymouth or Exeter if his case remains on the Western legal circuit - or it could be heard as far afield as South Wales or the Newcastle area.
Mr Dodd was released on conditional bail to attend a case management hearing at the Gloucester Court on October 29 when he will learn where his eight day trial will take place.
