Shortwood 2 Tytherington Rocks 0 – UHL Hellenic League
Tytherington Rocks slipped to their fifth league defeat of the season, going down 2-0 away to Shortwood United.
Wood took the lead after 20 minutes. Dylan Miles raced through on goal and
Schofield could only parry his fierce shot straight to Ellis Harper who slammed the ball into the roof of the net.
Chances came and went but with 10 minutes left Wood sealed the win. A corner from Josh Beadle was met perfectly by Tom Hoskins who headed powerfully home from eight yards.
James Brock fired over from close range in the dying seconds but the Rocks had not been creative enough in the final third to deserve anything from the game.
The match was marred by an injury to Shortwood captain Joe Tryner, who dislocated and fractured his elbow.
