Local MP Luke Hall has helped to secure a number of improvements for both the Ridge Housing Estate and Ridge Woods.
South Gloucestershire council have confirmed they will trial the installation of a RADAR key padlock on the Quarry Road gate to allow chair users access through the gate if required after residents raised concerns about access as the entrance to the woods is too narrow for pushchairs and mobility aids.
South Gloucestershire Council StreetCare team have also ensured the location is back on the list for maintenance.
Luke said: “ Living in Yate with my family, we often enjoy walks through Ridge Wood, and I fully understood people’s feedback about the entrance and ease of access.
" I am very pleased the Council will be looking into more options for families with pushchairs or who require disabled access.”
“More and more people are now working from home so ensuring our neighbourhood are well-maintained and kept safe and tidy for residents is a priority.
"From unwanted overgrowth to concerning potholes, if there is an issue you need me to raise with the StreetCare team then please let me know”.
