The Little George opened its doors in 2016 and has since established itself as one of Stroud's best pubs.

Situated in the town centre, Stroud's first and only micropub is just a short walk from the train station.

The George offers a diverse range of real ales and ciders, gins, wine, soft drinks as well as an excellent selection of bottled Belgian and craft beers.

The small intimate venue has a relaxing atmosphere and has established itself as one of the town's most appealing places for a drink.

Promoting good conversation, the micropub is a very small, two room public house, offering pub-goes a quieter and more back-to-basics experience.

The building underwent an interior renovation to transform it from the former premises of the Absolutely Fabulous beauty salon in 2016.

Owners Derek Miles from Brimscombe and Barry Raynes opened the George, which is run by the manager Danny, who was forced to close its doors in March due to the pandemic.

Pub lovers will be thrilled to hear the Little George will reopen on Thursday, November 5.

Danny confirmed the Little George will be open only on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays with social distancing measures in place.

Being so small, the pub has faced numerous challenges to reopen but everything has been done to ensure customers will have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Danny said: "We feel at the moment that opening three days a week would be better for our customers as we can give them the time and service they are used to.

"With how small we are, we ask an understanding of numbers and not to feel disappointed if we have to turn customers away if we are at capacity.

"All we can do is work as hard as we can, and with local support we can stay open and give the people of Stroud a place that is and has been warm and welcoming for years to come."
