There are long delays on the M4 near Thornbury after a lorry jackknifed earlier this morning.

Three lanes were closed due to the accident, on the M5 Northbound from J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange) to J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield).

All lanes have now re-opened, with travel time at around 35 minutes.

Congestion to past the Almondsbury interchange, and also onto the M4 in both directions.

The A38 through Alveston is also extremely slow as people try to find alternative routes.

Traffic was held momentarily at around 7.45am.
