SUPPORTERS of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice came together virtually during October to pull on their walking boots and take part in a special walk to remember loved ones.

From an 81-year-old walking the hills of the Cotswold Way from Painswick to Leckhampton, to a team walking in bright pink Tutus; this special event saw supporters get together, while socially distanced, and raise vital funds for the hospice.

The support comes at a vital time for the Gloucestershire hospice, which continues to experience a huge hit on its funding, with all normal fundraising events and activities continued to be cancelled.

Senior community fundraiser for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, Matt Reay, said: “To everyone that took part, for every mile you walked, for every pound you raised and for every memory you shared a huge thank you from everyone at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

“Collectively you have walked your way to raising an absolutely incredible £23,541, which will make such a difference to our patients and their families.

“Times are hard for everyone right now, so we’re truly touched so many people took part in our first ever Walk to Remember in support of local people in need of our expert and compassionate palliative care and bereavement support.

“Next month sees our December Daily Dash, where you can walk, jog or run 5k every day throughout December

“I really hope the fantastic people of Gloucestershire will pull on their walking boots or running shoes once more to support.”
