Shocking footage shows the moment an unidentified man hurled a brick through the window of an autistic pensioner's Gloucestershire home - leaving the victim afraid to go out.

The attack in Tuffley was captured on camera by a doorbell device and is now being investigated by police.

The family of the victim, named only as Keith, are offering a reward of £100 to anyone who can help catch the culprit.

Footage of the incident shows a hooded figure appearing outside the victim's house at around 7pm on October 31.

They then appear to check the street is clear - before chucking a brick through a window and running off.

Sister Barbara Overbury said her vulnerable brother has autism so does not leave his house in Gloucestershire.

This has left her and the rest of Keith's family baffled as to why a vandal would target his home.

Barbara, 66, said: "The police asked: 'Would he have upset anybody?'. Keith cannot come out - he cannot come out of his front door. He's autistic.

"He's no harm. I don’t understand it, I never will. What can I say? It's just disgusting. There was no need for this to happen to him.

"I hope they catch them. What they did is awful. It just made me feel sick. It's done with such vitriol.

"Some mother will know him [the culprit]. If it was my son I would take him straight to the police. Hopefully this mother has some compassion.

"It's quite a nice area. It's all older people. [The neighbours] don't know why it happened either. It's just horrific."

Gloucestershire Constabulary said a "number of lines of enquiry" were being probed.

A spokesperson said: "The CCTV footage of the offender has been provided to investigating officers and a number of lines of enquiry are currently being followed

"We take these incidents incredibly seriously and are deeply concerned that a vulnerable person has been the victim of such an attack.

"Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident 446 of 31 October.
