The Friends of Kingsgate Park are inviting locals to paint festive pebbles and place them under their Christmas tree this December.

As the annual Carols in the park are unable to go ahead this year due to coronavirus restrictions, the Friends want to encourage people to paint a pebble or rock with a Christmas theme and place under the Christmas tree in their raised garden.

Chair of the Frieds Sue Swanborough said: "We know that painting pebbles has become very popular in Yate and hope to be inundated with them in the park.

"We are looking forward to seeing varied and interesting designs.

"Hopefully we will be back to our normal Carols in the Park next year with mulled wine and mince pies."

Place your pebbles around the tree from December 5 onwards.
