The latest Government announcement, placing South Gloucestershire in Tier 3, means that Yate Shopping Centre’s cafes, bars and restaurants are only allowed to serve takeaways, click and collect, drive through or delivery services.

Centre manager Andrew Lowrey is hopeful the Tier review in two weeks time will hopefully allow places to return to full service if the area drops to Tier 2.

Andrew said: “It is disappointing that the hospitality units within the centre are still under the severest of restrictions but we have got to keep our fingers crossed that things start improving.

“It’s been a week of mixed fortunes with non-essential units able to open as from this coming Wednesday but our popular cafes and food outlets having to stay in restriction measures.

“The importance of keeping to Government guidelines has never been more important and is demonstrated by this latest announcement. We encourage all visitors to support their local Centre and think about buying that take-away or home delivery meal where you can to show your support for the less fortunate traders who can’t get back to normal yet”.

Units offering take-away, home delivery, click and collect, or drive through services will include:

McDonalds

Greggs

Costa Coffee

Dominos

Miss Millies

Nandos

Esquires

Boswells

M&S Cafe
