An Olveston woman is continuing her quest to ensure every child has a gift to open this Christmas.

Mo Lewis launched her Christmas Toy Appeal on behalf of the Salvation Army in 2018 and was staggered to receive around £2,000 in donations and toys.

In 2019 Mo repeated the appeal and added a request for knitted items and toiletries suitable for teenagers, this time raising £2,500.

This year Mo is repeating the exercise for a third time. With all of the Covid restrictions she knew it would be a tougher ask this year, but also that the need would be even greater.

Thankfully, however, new toys have been pouring in. Cash has been donated, baby items have been knitted and vouchers for toiletries have been handed over.

Mo said: "In three years I have been continually overwhelmed by the generosity of the people in Olveston and surrounding villages.

"The local school has also got involved this year so I am hopeful that we will once again make a lot of disadvantaged children have a much happier Christmas than they would have done".

The items will be collected from Mo's home in Daldry Gardens, Olveston, home on Monday, December 7. Anyone wishing to make a donation must do so before then.

New toys, toiletries or knitted items can either be left in the collection box, situated in the porch at Daldry Gardens Communal Block or collection can be arranged.

To arrange a donation email Mo at maureen.lewis@hotmail.co.uk or call 01454 610765 or 07958 140896.
