Visitors to Birdlip from outside of Gloucestershire have been warned by police today.
The visitors had come from another Tier 4 area.
Gloucestershire entered Tier 4 on December 31. The current rules state you should not travel into or out of a Tier 4 area other than for legally permitted reasons such as for work, if you cannot work from home, education or to attend medical appointments.
A tweet from the Glos Police Specialist Ops account stated: "The occupants of this car were warned under the Covid legislation as they had travelled from one Tier 4 area to Tier 4 Gloucestershire visiting Birdlip.
"They have heeded the advice and are now returning home."
Those breaching the rules can be given a Fixed Penalty Notice of £200 for the first offence, doubling for further offences up to a maximum of £6,400.
Gloucestershire Police have a "Engage. Explain. Encourage. Enforce." policy whereby fines are only issued if people continue to break the rules having previously been asked to change their behaviour.
