OFFICERS patrolling the M4 on Saturday couldn't believe their eyes when they spotted the door of a plane on the motorway.
The Specialist Operations team at Wiltshire Police shared photos on social media of what appears to be the door of a light aircraft on the M4 near Swindon.
Police found the door in lane one on the motorway on Saturday and are now asking for anyone who may have lost a door to their plane to come forward.
They tweeted:
Unusual debris! What appears to be a door from light aircraft, removed from lane one of the M4 near Swindon on Saturday 9th January. If the owner would like to come forward to collect it, please get in touch #insecureload pic.twitter.com/ZhTiMOutcF
