NOVEMBER was a month of tougher restrictions during the second national lockdown.

Despite this, the most up-to-date data from Gloucestershire police revealed that 616 crimes were reported in the Stroud, Dursley, Berkeley and Wotton under Edge area in November.

According to the data, the most reported crimes were related to anti-social behaviour (315).

In fact, over 50% of all reports concerned anti-social behaviour.

The second most common reports were of violence and sexual offences (125).

There were 44 criminal damage and arson incidents and 32 vehicle crimes.

During this month 15 burglaries and 22 shoplifting incidents were reported to the police.

Opposing, bicycle theft was reported less frequently as was possession of weapons with only two recorded.

According to the data, sports/recreation areas were most often the site of criminal activity with 33 reports, tied second were supermarkets and petrol station both with 21.

The street with the most amount of reported crimes was Chapel Street, Stroud where 10 incidents were reported, all of which were reports of anti-social behaviour.

Locking Hill, Stroud wasn’t far behind with nine reports, most of which also related to criminal damage and arson.

Out of all 616 reports, 183 remain under investigation, only three are awaiting a court outcome.

Over 11% of November's reported crimes the investigation was concluded without a suspect being identified (70) and they were unable to prosecute their suspect in 40 cases.
