THREE vehicles from outside the county made off from police officers in Hillesley, near Wotton under Edge last night.
SSGT Smart and SC Pinnell were patrolling the area at around midnight when they noticed the cars, which had come from Wiltshire.
On seeing the officers, the drivers drove off at speed.
An area search - which is believed to have involved a police helicopter and three police cars - followed and two of the cars were located.
It is understood one of the cars crashed into hedge on the hill which leads from Hillesley to Hawkesbury Upton.
The cars have been seized.
