A STOLEN skip lorry which was going the wrong way down the M5 was brought to a stop by a police 'stinger'.
A stinger is a tyre deflation device used by police in stopping high speed pursuits.
Gloucestershire Police Specialist Ops team deployed the Magnum Spike device at junction 8 of the M5, where the road connects to the M50, as the skip lorry attempted to travel the wrong way on the M5 - south-bound on the north-bound carriageway.
The skip lorry and two large goods lorries had been reported stolen earlier yesterday evening.
Officers made a further successful deployment of the same device at the same location and a number of men were arrested and taken into custody.
