Matthew Gardner, 31, of Manor Avenue, Cam, was sentenced to 10 months in prison after downloading indecent images of children.

He pleaded guilty to downloading indecent images in all three categories of seriousness - A, B and C - and breaching the terms of a sexual harm prevention order by downloading the images and deleting 24 messages between February 27, 2019 and December 31, 2019.

Gardner had previously received an eight-month suspended prison sentence on March 17, 2017 for similar offences.

A man from Olveston man has been jailed for his part in a plot to smuggle cocaine worth £500k, hidden in protein powder, into the UK.

Bertram Jack Fallon, 31, of Bramley Close, was jailed for six years and six months for conspiracy to import cocaine and for failing to disclose the PINs for his mobile phones.

And, described as the 'main organiser' of the plot by the National Crime Agency, Arron James Collins, 35, of Newland Walk, Bristol, received nine years and five months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to import cocaine.

Two men found with a 'full sweet shop’ selection of Class A and B drugs ready for sale have been jailed for a total of 40 months between them.

Jordan Foster, 23, of Parliament Street, Stroud, and Mitchell Hannis, 25, of Kingsbridge Mews, Cheltenham, were arrested during an unrelated police enquiry in Gloucester.

They were found to be in possession of heroin, crack cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis.

The judge jailed Foster for 14 months and Hannis for 26 months.

A prolific shoplifter who targeted businesses across Gloucestershire has been sentenced to six months in prison.

Alex Bingham, aged 31 and of Goose Bay Drive in Gloucester appeared at Gloucester Crown Court yesterday after previously pleading guilty to five incidents of shoplifting.

As well as the prison sentence Bingham is also now the subject of four year criminal behaviour order which prevents him from Entering any retail premises within Gloucestershire, with the exceptions of Tesco, St Oswald’s Road, Gloucester, any pharmacy or chemist, Gloucester Post Office or any pub, restaurant, fast food outlet and bank.
