Covid case rates in South Gloucestershire have fallen exactly 40 per cent according to the latest figures by Public Health England.

In the seven days ending February 28, there were 57 cases per 100,000 people living in the area compared to 95 the week before.

South Gloucestershire recorded the fourth highest case rate in the South West, with only Swindon, Segdemoor and Bristol having more.

There were 95 cases reported per 100,000 people in Swindon, and 73 in both Segdemoor and Bristol.

This means that nowhere in the South West has a triple-figure case rate as of February 28.

Tewkesbury had the lowest rate of cases, with just 18 per 100,000, dropping a massive 66 per cent from the week before.

The Cotswolds had the second best case rate, with 23 per 100,000 people, and Cheltenham had the third best, with 29.
