Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey TV interview will be broadcast this weekend.

The eagerly anticipated interview comes amid the fallout from the pair's decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.

While now living in California, Prince Harry spent much of his youth in the Cotswolds where he gained a reputation as something of a 'wild child'.

In 2002 tabloid journalists and paparazzi descended on The Rattlebone Inn in Sherston near Malmesbury following allegations the prince had engaged in a session of heavy drinking and cannabis use in the pub's cellar as a 17-year-old.

Prince Harry used to be regular at the pub, a short distance from his father's Highgrove estate. A report in the Mail on Sunday at the time said Harry's Royal Protection Squad officers reported their concerns about underage drinking to the police following a lock-in where Harry verbally abused a member of staff.

Harry was reportedly barred from the pub following the incident.

Other pubs in the area Harry was know to frequent include The Vine Tree at Norton, the Cat and Custard Pot at Shipton Moyne and the Tunnel House at Coates near Cirencester.

In 2005 Harry was forced to publicly apologise after wearing a Nazi uniform he had hired from Maud's Cotswold Costumes in Nailsworth to a fancy dress party.

A photo of the prince wearing a swastika armband was published on the front page of The Sun next to the infamous headline 'Harry the Nazi'.

A statement issued by Clarence House at the time said: "Prince Harry has apologised for any offence or embarrassment he has caused. He realises it was a poor choice of costume."

The party was held on the Wiltshire/South Gloucestershire border and attended by many of Harry's friends from the Beaufort hunting and polo scene.

Royal expert Robert Lacey has claimed the incident was responsible for starting the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William, with Harry resentful of the criticism he received compared to his brother - who was also at the party and reportedly helped Harry choose the outfit.

Having served in the army, launched the Invictus Games and, along with Meghan Markle, initiated the mental health awareness campaign Heads Together, Harry has a very different reputation these days.

But he has rarely been out of the limelight and interest in Harry and Meghan is now at an all time high.
