A CHILDREN’S story by Wotton under Edge based writer and illustrator, Eve Coy featured on CBBC’s bedtime stories.

Eve’s book, The Huffalots, is a story of lockdown family ups and downs.

It was read by Bafta-winning actress Felicity Jones on CBBC on Tuesday, March 16 at 6.50pm, and the programme is currently available to view on the BBC iPlayer.

Felicity Jones, who gained international fame in the lead role in Star Wars: Rogue One, told viewers: “Now, I’ll tell you a secret. Lots of us grown-ups can feel ourselves turning into Huffalots as the day goes on.

“But luckily we’ve got our Lovealots to cheer us up … remember, a Huffalot can always become a Lovealot, with a little bit of help.”

Eve studied animation at Edinburgh College of Art before working on Shaun the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit for the Bristol based animation studio, Aardman.

Whilst residing in Bristol, Eve would take her first daughter to the library which had an extensive children’s section, placed on shelves inside a boat.

Eve and her daughter were frequent passengers on the boat, and as they worked their way through the shelves Eve became hooked on picture books.

Eve went on to gain an MA in Children’s illustration from the Cambridge School of Art and is a resident artist at Prema Art Centre. Eve’s picture book The Huffalots was published by Andersen Press.
