The international Space Station was captured in an image taken from Quedgeley by talented Gloucester camera club member Justin Collinge.

Justin captured the extremely clear image was snapped just after 8pm on March 24.

The International Space Station currently has seven astronauts aboard who have spent the last week compiling biology investigations in low-Earth orbit.

The station astronauts have been focusing their research efforts this week on microgravity’s long-term impacts on the human body and other biological processes.

NASA Engineers are currently examining microscopic worms wriggling in unique sample slides, to understand how weightlessness affects genetic expression in muscles.

Three new crew members are also two weeks away from launching to the orbiting lab and joining the Expedition 64 crew.
