Officers in Dursley arrested a man and a boy in connection with rogue trader offences on Friday.

The incident happened In Five Acres shortly before 3pm on Thursday, March 25, when a man and a teenage boy pulled up at a property in what was described as a 'dirty white van'.

They allegedly told the elderly homeowner that work was needed on his roof before the boy got onto it and stayed there for around 90 minutes.

When he came down the pair demanded nearly £1000. The man and boy had no business card and gave no receipt.

The victim withdrew around half the money from a cashpoint but the pair said they would come back the next day for the rest.

The following day, before any further incident, officers arrested a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Berkshire, on suspicion of fraud by misrepresentation.

They have been bailed to return to police on April 17 while enquiries continue.

Anyone who has information that could help the enquiry is asked to call police on 101 referencing incident 116 of March 26, or visit www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report.
