Our readers nominated the top 15 takeaways in Cam and Dursley, Thornbury, Yate and Chipping Sodbury, and we’ve been profiling each of them so you can choose the Gazette Series Best Takeaway 2021 winner.

This week we’re showcasing venues in Yate and Chipping Sodbury and next up is the Tudor Raj in Chipping Sodbury.

The team at the Tudor Raj said they were delighted with their nomination after facing a ‘real struggle’ over the past 12 months.

Owner Rafiq Hannan said “We are overjoyed to be nominated for this prestigious accolade.

“We have had a real struggle as we usually rely on our restaurant trade which was very successful for us before Covid.”

The restaurant has been open every day for takeaways throughout lockdown and their menus combine traditional Indian and Bangladeshi flavours, specialising in rare spices, exotic fresh vegetables, poultry, meat and seafood.

All of their dishes are prepared using their own blend of sauces and marinades produced using the most appropriate herbs and spices to ensure their customers enjoy an authentic and unique dining experience.

Rafiq added: “If we win it will make a very difficult time in the restaurants history feel much more bearable and it will help us to continue to serve our customers knowing that they enjoy dining with us“
