A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of Joshua Hall.
Hall, 17, was stabbed at Cam Sports Club on Friday afternoon, and died at Southmead Hospital later that day - prompting Gloucestershire police to launch a murder investigation.
The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Friday and charged with murder on Sunday.
Appearing at Cheltenham Youth Court with his parents today, he spoke only to confirm his name, age and date of birth.
May Li, prosecuting, confirmed a second charge of possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, was linked to the murder charge.
District Judge Nicholas Wattam remanded the youth into custody and ordered him to appear before Gloucester Crown Court on April 21.
“Your case is to go to the crown court to be dealt with on April 21. The law states I cannot consider a bail application at this stage,” he said.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed that another 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man who were also arrested in connection with the incident have both been released under investigation.
Tributes have also been paid to the victim.
