THE Cam and Dursley community came together this evening to remember teenager Josh Hall and the love he brought to life.

At 5pm, a couple of hundred people gathered at Cam Sports Club to celebrate, in Josh's family's words: 'our beautiful, charming, caring and kind soul'.

The gathering included Josh's parents and many young people, who released balloons into the sky above the pavilion.

It was there at the pavilion on Friday afternoon that Josh was attacked and despite treatment on site and at Southmead Hospital he passed away later that evening.

Josh's family have said in a statement that they would like Josh "to be remembered not for this senseless act but for the love he brought to life.

"The essence of Josh is impossible to capture because of how special he was. He helped people in their darkest hours and their lives are better because of his presence. He always had a smile for everyone and was cheeky and compassionate."

Young people who need support or to talk through their concerns following Josh's death are encouraged to reach out to The Door and Rednock School, who are both offering support.

Full details of how to get in touch with The Door can be found at thedoor.org.uk or contact a member of the team in confidence on the Door Line 01453 705350 (5pm to 7pm Monday to Friday).

Support for parents is also available.
