Tributes have been paid to a much-loved Thornbury groundsman who is leaving his role.
Paul Le Riche has been playing fields supervisor for Thornbury Town Council for the last 26 years.
Fondly referred to as 'Hightower', he is well known in the town.
A spokesperson for Thornbury Town Council said: "Thornbury Town Council want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Paul Le Riche for his 26 years’ service as our Playing Fields Supervisor.
"I am sure you will agree he has done a tremendous job of keeping the playing fields looking so beautiful.
"We all wish him the very best for the future, you will be missed."
The council's announcement on social media prompted an outpouring of support for Paul.
One commenter said: "You don't fully appreciate a person until they have moved on. Great work."
Another added: "What a great job you have done Paul. You will be missed."
