I am disgusted that the government are bringing in a law further criminalising protest.
Our nation has a proud history of protest, in fact most of the freedoms and privileges we enjoy today have come about through protest, such as votes for women and workers rights, to name only two.
Our right to peaceful protest is the envy of millions, even billions of people across the world in Russia, China, North Korea and Iran etc.
Similar to the 1930's as we and our fellow democracies again face a growing threat from dictators, we need to stand up for our values and defend our freedoms, not clamp down on dissent and protest. Is the government so thin skinned and unwilling to listen, that rather than defend our human rights, traditions and liberty it is acting like an autocratic regime?
