Hundreds of mourners lined the streets of Cam and Dursley to pay their respects to Josh Hall as the funeral procession took place this morning.

Teenagers, mothers, fathers, Rednock School students and teachers holding balloons and banners all clapped as the hearse proceeded from Josh’s family home in Cam to Dursley town centre for around 10am.

The hearse was followed by the family in two cars, friends and classmates, motorbikes and those who the hearse had already passed.

Speaking to the Gazette on Tuesday, one of Josh’s closest friends Kieran Woodford, said: “Josh Hall was my best mate. I classed him as my brother, we were always up to something and always having a laugh.

“Josh never took life too seriously. He always had a cheeky smile on his face and he could make you smile just from a glance. Josh will forever be missed and the memories of him cherished. Fly high lil king.”

Josh died in Southmead Hospital after allegedly being stabbed outside Cam Sports Club on April 16. A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with his murder and will face trial later this year.

The funeral procession took Josh to Jubilee Skatepark, Cam, for around 9:30am where friends and family had organised a gathering, before passing by China Chef in Cam and around Indoor Outdoor in Dursley.

The hearse drove through Norman Hill, Kingshill and passed Rednock School before travelling to Dursley town via the ‘Rec’ playing field on Kingshill Road.
