A driver injured a cyclist during a hit-and-run in Berkeley last week and police are appealing for witnesses.

The car knocked the cyclist off his bike on the A38 in Newport, Berkeley so hard that the wing-mirror detached.

He sustained various injuries and his bicycle was badly damaged, but the driver did not stop at scene of the incident, which occured on May 27.

As the vehicle passed the cyclist travelling South between between 7.35pm and 7.45pm, it struck him with the wing mirror causing him to crash.

The colour of the vehicle is unknown but it was missing a black nearside wing mirror and its attachment immediately after the collision took place.

It may still be missing the wing mirror and attachment now.

Investigating officers are now appealing for witnesses to the collision as well as dash cam footage.

Anyone with information can submit this to police online, referencing incident 481 of May 27.
