For the twelfth year running - and despite the difficulties caused by COVID restrictions and guidance - Wotton in Bloom have put up over 140 hanging baskets and troughs in the main streets of the town.

Working with Wotton Lions and a group of volunteers this was accomplished on Monday in a record time of three hours.

"We have had to adapt the way that we organise Wotton in Bloom, to keep our volunteers and the general public safe," said Sue Hunt of Wotton in Bloom.

“This has meant that we weren’t able to visit every shop and house on the main streets to explain what we were doing and how we were going to do it.

“It also means that for the second year running we have launched a Wotton wide appeal to pay for the flowers and the watering.”

She added: “What has really kept us going has been the enthusiasm for this project from our local residents and traders.

“It raises everyone’s spirits to see the town that we are so proud of looking so good.”

To make a donation to Wotton in Bloom you can hand in an envelope at The Coventry Building Society at 42 Long Street, or put it into the secure letterbox at 9b Long Street.
