Three people have been taken to hospital following a collision involving a van and two cars on the A40 earlier today.

Officers have closed parts of the A40 near Northleach due to the serious crash that happened shortly before 6am this morning.

Police, the fire service, air ambulance and paramedics attended the scene, four people have been injured, two with serious injuries, and three people have been taken to hospital.

Closures have been put in place on a stretch of the A40 while emergency services remain in attendance.

These run from the Northleach roundabout junction with the A429 to the Frogmill Inn turn onto the A436 for lorries. Other vehicles are being diverted at the next junction.

The road closures are expected to remain in place for a number of hours and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
