Big 7 Travel, a global travel site, has released this year’s version of its ‘The 50 Best Gastropubs In The UK’ list and a Gloucestershire gastropub features in the list.

Gloucestershire featured in 42nd place with its gastropub Churchill Arms located in Paxford, making it one of the best gastropubs in the UK.

It’s the second year that the list has been compiled and shared and it’s a combined score of reader’s suggestions throughout the year, online user reviews and Big 7 Travel’s editorial team are all factors which determine the list results.

A gastropub is defined as a hybrid pub, bar and restaurant serving alcoholic food and drinks.

The list was looking out for those establishments that went above and beyond just ordinary pub grub.

It would be the sort of place patrons would come to for a Sunday roast, house-cured meats an artisan ingredients.

  1. The Sportsman – Whitstable, Kent
  2. The Broad Chare – Newcastle upon Tyne
