Yate Town beat Beaconsfield Town at 4-0 in first home league win of the season.

An impressive first half display yielded three goals and from then on the Bluebells were well on course to record a comfortable first home league win of the season.

Pressing forward from the start, the home side saw visiting goalkeeper Aymen Azaze off his line to block David Sims-Burgess as he burst through and then Ollie Mehew shot wide when played through by Nick Rhodes.

It was Mehew though who was the architect of Town's opening goal. He was scythed down as his mazy run took him into the box and Sims-Burgess dispatched the spot kick after seventeen minutes.

Further pressure was rewarded with a second goal four minutes later, Will Tunnicliff heading a Joe Tumelty corner into the mix and Mehew battling through a mass of bodies to hook the ball into the net from close range.

The third goal, and Sims-Burgess' second penalty of the game, came in first half stoppage time after he had been bundled over as he tried to engineer himself a shooting chance in the area.

The visitors made changes at the break and inevitably they then enjoyed their best spell of the game.

Nathan Minhas fired over the crossbar from distance and then had an effort held by Andy Hannah while their best chance came from Carl Stewart, a rising drive from outside the box that Hannah had to touch away for a corner.

At the other end Ricardo Rees headed wide from a Tumelty free kick and Tunnicliff sent his header wide when he met a deep right wing cross from Sam Turl.

Town put the game to bed with ten minutes left, Josh Allen's long pass out of defence picking out James Harding who opened his goal-scoring account by drilling the ball past Azaze and into the far corner.
