REMEMBRANCE Sunday commemorations were held across Yate and Chipping Sodbury as locals gathered together to remember those who lost their lives.

Over 200 uniformed services joined the Royal British Legion, members of the church, councils and representatives from community groups in the parade around Yate and Sodbury led by the Boys Brigade 1st Yate Company Band.

Mayor James Ball, Luke Hall MP, Mayor Karl Tomasin and Cllr Chris Zapata also joined the huge procession.

Acts of Remembrance were held outside the Lych Gates and Parnall Memorial with bugler Connor Crane sounding the last post.

Mayor James Ball laid a wreath on the War memorial following a two minute silence at 11am.

Mr Ball said: "It was a lovely day, the parade was one of the largest I can remember and it was a very poignant service after not being able to go ahead last year due to the pandemic."
