RUNNERS endured the bog and mud to take on one of toughest cross country courses in the area, the ever-popular Sodbury Slog.

Almost 1000 sloggers made it around the course in the glorious sunshine, on a course that organisers say was wetter and muddier than ever before.

Runners loved the usual water features including Boggy Bottom, the Sheep Dip, Pig Trough, and Leap of Faith, and braved the newly added Swamp.

Ira Rainey, event organiser said: “The event went off without a hitch and there were lots of smiling faces collecting their newly added medals at the finish line.”

The team raised over £5000 for charity, with the majority going to local good causes.

Sodbury Slog has formed a partnership with the Forest of Avon Trust and funded the planting of 350 trees in Old Sodbury, with more planned for next year.
