A Christmas Fayre is being held at the St Mary Centre in Thornbury.

The event is taking place on Saturday, December 4 from 11am to 3pm.

There will be free family activities running in the main square, with Christmas arts and crafts as well as mince pies and festive drinks.

Shoppers can meet the ‘Snow Princesses’ and have their photo taken – plus, it will be ‘snowing’ on the hour.

The centre’s businesses are also getting involved in the event - The Lions Club will be running a Snowflake Trail around St Mary Centre; shoppers simply need to pick up their trail map for £2, and then find the snowflakes around the centre for their chance to win a bundle of prizes. All money generated will be donated to the charity.

JIGSAW, who are new to St Mary Centre, will be inviting children to come and meet Santa at their new base. JIGSAW supports families who have children with additional needs or disabilities so, to make their Grotto as accessible as possible, Santa will have his signing Elf with him!

Children can also meet Albus, the charity’s therapy dog, who will be donning his reindeer antlers to get into the festive spirit! The Grotto will cost £5 per child and will need to be booked in advance through Jigsaw’s website at jigsawthornbury.org.uk.

Alan Cole, centre manager at St Mary Centre, said: "Christmas is always a special time here in Thornbury, and we’re very excited to be running such a fantastic event for local families to enjoy.

"It has been a long year, and we’re all looking forward to making this season as magical as possible."
