A rail passenger has been fined more than £200 after failing to buy a £4.50 ticket.

The court heard the 39-year-old had travelled on a Great Western Railway train at Bristol Temple Meads without paying his £4.50 fare on March 3.

He must also pay costs of £180 and a £34 victim surcharge - leaving him with a total bill of £438.50.
