TWO DURSLEY residents teamed up to get rid of a tree which had fallen on a footpath in Dursley.

When Clive and Lisa Roads noticed that a tree was completely blocking the path accessed from Court House Gardens, they decided to do something about it.

The community spirited couple went out today (Thursday) over their lunch break, armed with a chainsaw.

And after a couple of hours of cutting and clearing, the route is now open again.

Lisa said: "It’s a really well used walking route particularly for dog owners and families.

"We tried to walk the route yesterday but it was impassable. So we decided to go back and do something about it today."

"It took us a couple of hours to chain saw it up and move all of the debris. The mud around it is like glue at the moment."

Lisa added: "It’s extremely wet thick mud for most of the path at the moment, so wellies or waterproof boots with a good tread advisable."
